Brendon is running equal first after 2 stages
Not all the field through + first 2 stages are "warmup" with the base time easily achieved by most cars in the field...
Stage 3 onwards is where it starts to get real...

John

Targa Tas runs on a base time system. Eg each stage is given a base time. If you go under that time there is no penalty (or time added) but if you go over then you are given a time.

Example, If teh stage has a base time of 2 min 30 secs and you do it in 2:22 you have a time of 0:00.

But if you run a time of 2:32 your time will be 0:02.

At the beginning of the event the base times are easier. Thejy get more difficult as the event progresses.

Part of the challenge for the top teams in the early stages is not going quick, but going just quick enough to net get any penalties but save the car and tyres etc.

Thanks Dan!

Didn't know that. And here I am cursing that no one has updated the times :D

The only thing that shits me is that if I walked into a Lamborghini dealer I can not buy that car, yet he is here running it. You cant run a Nismo GTR, a Carrera cup car etc. If he was coming nowhere then good luck to him but he is clearly the fastest guy here nd no one will pull him up and check the car.

Brendon
Ohhhhh that ol chestnut eh!

So you can buy an Evo X RS at any mitsi dealer can you?

Pretty sure that you CAN buy the same car as his through a lambo dealer (infact it is advertised though an Australian Lambo dealer!)

Just incase you are wondering about favouritism towards the whites if you look back you will find that prior to his first win in the R34 he actually won the event in an evo 7 but was stripped of the win because of the mesh in the grill not being there!

Bahhhh!!! Stewy Liddle broke a rear drive shaft. He is hoping to repair it and keep going but is out of contention. Poor guy!!

That's rallying!

Dean 4th at the end of Day 1 with Graham Iddles and Brendon Winterbourn having a tight battle at 20 & 21 respectively in Modern...
Interestingly the leading Mitsubishi is in P13...
