Yeah Tim...we thought we had found the coolant leak, but when we got to service it was steaming up a bit...that's when Neil discovered the crack in the header tank....shit happens!

This rally has a 200km/h limit on top speed, similar to Quit Targa West but without GPS tracking it relies purely on the honour system. Our car still has a factory stock ECU with 180km speed limiter. With slightly larger tyres it soft cuts at about 190. We hit it on every one of the proper stages, only the town stages were under 190. I'm sure there are lots of drivers who don't look at their speedo at around 200 and would be surprised at how much over they had been going. It certainly surprised me twice each run on pump hill, on Big Brook Dam and even the tight twisty Kuranda how quickly we hit the limiter. On Gloucester it was a matter of keeping it just under for as long as you could. 15.52 km in just over 6 minutes (including chicanes)

I know the big h.p. cars had to keep a careful eye on the speed.
Nigel Jones (co-driver in the "Marlborough" Torana) was telling me how he had to call out the speed as they hit 200 just so they'd keep a lid on it.

Finally got a copy of last years event, and made the coverage 5 times.

Entered again for this year, really a fun event. Early entry discount ends tomorrow, last day of Summer, good autumn event.

BUMP for this year.

Tim (Jeckle) is in his STI.
Graham in Spec C.
That's it for the Subies!

I'm co-driving in a RenaultSport Megan which has some fresh go-faster bits added.
Lachy is co-driving for Denver in the orange skyline.
Adrian (who last year was co-driving for his cousin in his STechnic GC8) is on co-driver duties in a modified RenaultSport Clio.

I think that's all the P-WRX related people.

Weather is forecast to be… not sunny. So we'll see what happens! See you at the finish.

Youtube links for 3 stages from the weekend.

New Clutch, need to learn how to launch/take off so sorry about those.

We did this on road tyres, Re-002 from last year, and we drove the car to and from the event. Also a bit shaken on finding team mate Murray Hynes not making it up Big Brook Dam for the second time, and our 2nd run down was affected by this.

Most times we entered time control, it started to rain. Had fun on the town stages, found the oil, third car through Pemberton 2 (after the first Clio damaged its sump on the first corner)

Were also in challenge so limited to 130kph

Many thanks to Leigh Hynes for preping the car and solving the overheating problems that started last year and reared its head again in February.

Set of semi slicks for TW is on the list.

Big Brook Dam South 1 note the Kangaroos at 1.11

Last run Pemberton, driest roads we had all weekend.
