Hey guys,

My engine light has come on!!! I gave it a bit off boot dropped it in second...and took it to just about red line then into 3rd...all sounded sweet and went well however my engine light came on....Drove home and idled for a few minutes and popped the hood and all sounds fine...What could it be??

How do i turn it off....

disconnect ur battery for 15 minutes =P if it comes on after that go to subaru and get ur fault codes checked =)

Well at least i creamed the xr6 turbo anyway!!!!

Mate when you hit that redline mine does it also....CEL comes on, Mine showed up as Cam angle sensor ? But he said theres not anything wrong it goes away after half a day or so haha. Sounds real dodgy...

Yhhh happens to mine too. Engine light turns on if you hit the red line, give it a day or half a day and it will go away. I went to SUBARU and told them the problem, they say its common.... -.-

yeah a friend gets the same issue, goes away after a while also

I have the same problem also. Mainly does it when down-shifting to overtake and the rev's approach red-line. There's one helluva jolt, engine light comes on and the cruise control light flashes, also disabling the cruise control function.
I've been told it's caused from the ECU detecting 'over-boost'?!?! and the only remedy is to disconnect the battery or pull out the ECU for a few seconds.
It's ok around around town but on a country run it really sh!ts me as it only does it when cruising above 130km/h*. Surely there's a fix for this?

*speeds above the posted legal limit were undertaken on privately owned sealed roads under controlled environments.

I have a Haltech Interceptor ECU installed.....could that be causing the problem??

Used to happen in mine all the time... till I got a Link Then I got no more CEL's ever again
