China v Brand Name Coolers
The hybrid copy kits keep getting lower in price, its just too tempting. Im not after big HP just yet, so will it do? There is a massive price margin between the two, is it better to wait a bit and buy a proper kit is the hybrid kit decent for the price it goes for?

well lets look at bar and plate coolers, it's not exactly a highly complex piece of kit
quality aspects that are biggest to take into account are the grade of aluminium (maybe this will make a ball hair difference to the thermal charactristics, probably about as much as anodising... :startsshitfight: ) the end tank construction is probably the biggest and most important factor i'd look at as this is gonna determine how well it flows, as for the cores well bar and plate are never gonna flow like a good tube and fin set up be it a chinese jobby or a more expensive one. but at a fraction of the price i don't think they are too bad |

end tank design
fin layout and design tube design testing and R&D into efficiency they are all factors.. IMHO i won't go china, id rather go something name brand, or custom built, some china cores are also known to cause a whistle when driving as the air passes thru due to the fin layout
