Noise after a few laps - Perth-WRX.com

I have this noise that would come and go at Barbagallo. It is a quick thumping noise (like a quick drum beat) that I can feel through the accellerator pedal (not through the steering wheel), can mainly feel it on full boost when I am pushing the car down a straight.

Not sure what it is, Its not pinging.

The instructor said he couldn't feel it when he took the car for a drive and I could feel it again with my feet against the firewall in the passenger seat.

Any ideas?

If it was Rotors wouldn't I feel it through the steering wheel though?

depends, the floating disc over hub setup on the modern subarus mean a lot of the vibration and dampening is transmitted into the caliper/pads into the strut/body.

if the deformation of the disc was severe enough, you would feel it in the steering definately. but a minor deformation (heat related) doesnt really cause a lot of vibration.

Will check it out cheers Stace. I have felt this before though and RT just changed the pads so they should have noticed or is it something that isnt so visible without looking for?

Matty's car had this issue, ad around 120+ it would start shuddering through the car, was not only the accelerator though, it was through the steering, the lot. Felt like a flat tyre. Turned out to be the rotors.

yeah i'd put money on it being the rotors making the noises
