Default revving weird .. clutch plate slipping?

Hey,

Ive noticed latly that when i plant my foot in either 3rd, 4th or 5th gear and get to about 3k(give or take), the revs jump rather fast to around 4k, drop slightly(different every time, around 300-400 revs but they drop), and then start climbing normal again. It doesnt happen in 1st or 2nd gear.

Also when i shift pritty quickly and plant my foot on the throttle again, sometimes it just revs hard and fast and i get a burnt clutch smell. Its like the clutch plate isnt engaging properly or something ..

Has anyone else had the same or similar problem?
Any places recommended that i get it checked out(most prolly the clutch, 90% sure)?
What could be the problem?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Cheers
-Nick

you clutch is gone I'd say. Look in the workshop thread and take it to one of those places you think sounds good.
I would recomend ASG, Tenagah, or Jim Hall

sorry for the hijack

but - i have a prob with my car, i cant rev it past 5500 in neutral, or with the clutch in.
could it be clutch sliiping?
or could it be the faulty afr sensor ? (which is weird since its only used for closed loop control )

Sounds like clutch is gone for sure. I'm wondering how much is left on mine, I don't think there is any easy way of telling until it starts slipping.

I try to be as soft as possible on my clutch, how long do they usually last for anyways? I have a MY01 which is coming through 95k kms, but it still seems alright so far.

Not sure about something like this as a replancement ??
