Peoples... HELP!!!

My car won't unlock and disarm the alarm/imobaliser from the key...

2 things..

If the key battery is flat can i change it (or have someone do it for me)

Is the problem perhaps not both my sets of keys but something else?

i changed my key battery yesterday as it would take several attempts to unlock, went to subaru and asked for a new battery, put it in myself when i got home, no dramas.

haveing said that it would be unusual for both keys to be having the same issue at the same time...

for the record, what kind of battery was it and can it be purchased at places other than the dealership?
