DOHC setting the cam on TDC
HI guys,
I know its not a WRX thread but I do own one, I hope its lets me off lightly lol! My son owns a 1995 TX3 laser. We have recenlty had the head done by head torque in ozzy park and what a nice job they did to. We refitted the head with new gaskets and all that. The question I would like to ask is: With number one piston at TDC compression stroke, what position would both inlet and exhaust lobes on the cam be, in relationship to it on cylinder one?. Ready to open, close, High point up/down??, oppisite or facing each other?? I,am in a bit of a fix at the moment, Any help would be great lads.Cheers Nails and impatient Son!!!! Just line up the timing marks with the marks on the timing cover/cylinder head. but if number one is on tdc, then both valves would be closed, and i think number 4 would be exhaust open intake closed.

I used to be a member of www.fordlaser.com, you might find the answer there. 90% of the users are retards but if you wade through the crap for a while you might find something useful

Cylinder number 4 cam should be just about to open, exhaust should just be closing, Then you have number 1 on the top about to fire. Then line up the marks from there. Engines rotate clockwise when viewed from the front. (All except Honda)

Having had 3 x tx3 motors built (2 x turbo 1 x NA) i thought i was bound to have some more pics of the head/cams
This is the best i got: Ahh that brings back memories - TXTC.. the soul crusher.
