whats happening to my baby

when my car is idoling in neutral the revs are going between 800 to 200 just keeps going up and down and then sometimes it will be fine idoling at about 800 does anyone knows what going wrong

the notorious my99/00 gc8s AFM strikes again.

Get a new one.

You'd think with such a high failure rate among the my99 and 00s that Subaru would offer a factory recall.
