OK the engine is ready to come out. I have been searching for head gaskets for the EJ205. What do you recommend? Factory Subaru or something uprated. Don't want anything too flash as I don't ever intent on running over 20PSI. However something just a tad better than standard.

Hopefully should have the heads off by tomorrow eve....

Stay tuned.

problaby shouldn't have been running 16-17psi without tune maybe thats wat did it (gauge may not have been accurate to you have autometer don't you). Do you have aftermarket fuel pump?
TD04's are cheap anyway but oyu may as well upgrade while your at it. You could have my turbo cause i am upgrading but its seen a bit of abuse and lots of km's.
Ill problaby have to do a similar thing soon too 180,000km.

Happy to buy one of you guys TD04 if cheap as chips. Otherwise I'll prob upgrade to VF series. The TD04 overhaul kit is only around $160 from memory so that's another option.....

Just done a cylinder leakage test on number 2 cyl. Not good news. Air coming out through oil filler cap.
