DO cut the caps off the injectors.

DO NOT cut through the tip of the injector, ruining it beyond repair.

There would be less than 0.5mm between the cap and the tip of the injector, so there isnt much room for error.

A piece of fine emery paper will do the trick. Sand the cap gently until the cap is ground through. It should fall off.

Take your injectors to an injector shop to get flow tested and/or cleaned depending on their age.

So how is the wrx injectors Decapped.????

would like to see what the wrx injectors look like with this mod done. i cut apart a my00rs injector and it ended up in pieces
i even cut just after the secton with the holes but it must be all one piece. i then tried to grind another one down to see if it would work better but it turned out crappy to. i wonder if i should try drilling out the center and see how that turns out

" I mention the use of Pink STI injectors throughout the post."

From that same thread:

So basically you just grind where the green line is:

Grind where the green line is, but dont grind THROUGH where the green line is...only enough so the cap falls off

Thinking of doing this mod sounds interesting!
Not to sure what are the flow rates on a STD set of MY00 injectors!

Would there be any flow increase with this mod?
If so how much?
What boost increase to support the extra fuel?

Cheers Nails

Correct me if i'm wrong, but 99/00 injectors are "sidefeed" not "top feed".

You would need to change manifold, rails and then injectors to complete this project.

Yeah, this only works with the top feed injectors.

For flow testing, as I said previously try somewhere like United Fuel Injection. There are other places around too which aren't as dear as them too.

I remember Geoff having a whinge when stace first posted pics of his injectors up "they look exactly the same as my Sard 800cc injectors" but obviously at a lower cost.
