Guys, do some research, don't be so lazy.

PPG 1-4 stright cut syncro with billet selectors (1-2 and 3-4) + interlocker is $6100 +GST (this is parts only)

Sti 6 speed conversion $7000 (for 01 + wrx's) (parts only)

It's a no brainer in my opinion

I think it depends on what you want out of the car...go the PPG if 1/4 mile times is what your after...if its track work, the six speed might be the way to go.

This car is for daily driving...i dont do much track or 1/4mile....probably been down the 1/4 twice since i owned the car "november05*

just wanting to know if the 6speed will give better fuel consumption and if it is nice to drive with, as i dont really like going down the freeway sitting on 100 in 5th gear and the rpm is at like 3500rpm

If I could do it all again, I would prob go a 6 speed.
Sure the ppg can take a thrashing, but the noise is terrible

My car does about 2800rpm at 100km/h with the 6 speed. My old 5 speed used to do 2500, and I wish the 6 speed did that aswell cause the difference in noise between the two is quite amazing. Try and find yourself a USDM or forrester box with the higher 5th and 6th gears instead of a JDM box if your really concerned about freeway driving.

Saying that, shifts in the 6 speed are fantastic, and it feels very solid. No noise is a huge bonus aswell.
