Default Rotors

Hey Guys

I am looking at replacing the old rotors on my MY00 with DBA 650's. Now i know absolutely nothing mechanic wise so how easy are these to install and are they right for the front wheels of my car. Also how much would i be looking at money wise for new brake pads. The brakes are standard subaru issue.

Any help appreciated

Replacing the rotor is easy peasy. Just needs a little muscle.

Do this:
-Jack up car
-Take off Wheel
-Take off caliper via the two large bracket bolts. (Don't take off any hoses or you will have fluid pissing everywhere and you will have to do a complete bleed then.)
-Rotor can now be taken off with a little persuasion, just like your wheel.
-Replace rotor. Do reverse.

Changing the pad is a little more fiddly, but is easy to figure out. There are certain things you should do to bed the rotor/pads in but i'm not sure on the specifics. Anti-squeal spray is also a good idea.

As for best pads, search is definately your friend here. Intended use is a must known though as it is important to match the rotor metalurgy with the pad.

Maybe it is a better idea to seek a workshops advice and install (only a half hour job so labour would be 40-60 bucks) if your not up to the task or don't know someone that can assist.
