Default grinding and feedback when turning left

hi guys

ok , my car is now running great!(big thanks for tenagah for putting up with me) , the last problem is one i have had for a year now but never botherd to fix it till now.

if i am stopped and going to turn left and give it a little stick when i take off i am getting grinding and feedback when it is half way or up to full lock left.
it does not do it when turning right no matter how hard a launch it but i can get it to grind left easy , driving is fine and it seems the worst when i am turbign left from standstill.
i just got the CV's inspected and they are ok.

any ideas???

I had this problem in my 02 STi. Was the dump pipe fouling on the steering column.

Axle on the driver side is gone id say the problem is.Mine did exact same thing if i turn left and only left it would make that grinding slipping noise.

Hmmm i have had the dump pipe rubbing on the exhaust before when i went back to a TD04 from the VF34 , might have a look when i get home but it does nto do it when its nto under power , only when its on power other then thats its ok.

i thought it was the outer linkage on the front left CV but after i went to alans CV joints in osborne park to get it looked at he said my cv's are fine.

so if its the exhaust rubbing could it do it only when taking off fast at a left turn ??

Hmmm , i might give the down pipe a but of a bump when i get home to try and move it away from the steering but its still odd that it does not grind if i turn the wheel all the way left and drive slowly but grinds and knocks like all hell if i turn the wheel all the way left and drive away fast.

Check your up pipe heat shield...they tend to come loose and can interere with the bottom of the steering column.
