black engine oil
Hi All,
I did my oil change yesterday and I noticed that the engine oil was kinda dark. Good news is that the oil was smooth as (smooth as in that there was no gritty bits) and could of been substituted for baby oil, but I'm not into that sort of stuff - *puts on the fakest Austrian accent* 'Don't be a girly man!' Why does the engine oil turn such a dark colour?

cause fuel gets into the oil, and contaminates it, as does little particles of grit/wear from the motor, and stuff like carbon build up etc

I've used the nulon engine oil flush and drained it until there was nothing left to drip.
Hmmm, makes sense. Thanks!

when my car was running a litle rich it made the oil pure black after about 4000kms. Still goes quite dark quickly. had a comp test done a while back it was perfect.
I guess oil just gets dark as it gets action. |
