Default A couple of problems...

Just wondering if you guys can help me out a little on some things that i'm a little worried about.

The car is a 2003 bugeye WRX impreza (Looks like one of the last built), has recently just had a complete gearbox rebuild and clutch replaced. All problems have occured before and after the rebuild and clutch being replaced. The only mod done is a turbo back exhaust (xforce).

My problems are:

1) In first and second gear I get a very loud 'whirring' sound, its quite high pitch and gets louder as the revs get higher. Having just had the gearbox rebuilt I am pretty sure it can't be the gearbox crying with pain? Could it be a mere 'characteristic'?

2) When I put my foot down to accelerate hardish I get what seems like a creaking sound that sounds like it is coming from the accelerators direction. It lasts for as long as I accelerate with any type of force.

Thanks for anyone that can help out.

when you had your gearbox re-buit, did you get straight cut gears or anything like that?

I know what the sound of the intake and turbo is like and can confirm that its neither, I hear the turbo spooling quite nicely in the background as well as this loud high pitched horrible sound.

Yup I will have to take Adz advice... although last time I booked it in it had the gearbox rebuilt and still didn't get rid of the noise. Gearbox was knacked though anyhow.

The creaking noise comes at high revs, the whinning noise comes at any revs in first or second with hardish acceleration.

Thanks for your help all

Wouldn't possibly have a custom Deck/Amp installed at all (either or). I just know from experience that you can get a really horrible high pitched sound come through the speakers (and can be quite illusive at first) from a faulty signal cleaner on the deck or something similar.

Just another idea i thought i'd throw into the pot.
