Default Who has an AVO turbo

Does anyone have an AVO450s turbo, specifically if you have one on a 2.5 litre motor?
Just wondering what hassels are encountered fitting it up to stock headers, RMS dump pipe, oil / coolant lines, and any dyno plots available?
Al

Not worried about the graph so much, just whether there is any dramas fitting it up with DBW on the Sti, coolant oil / line probs ? and whether it is a good turbo and suited to the 2.5l

MSR got his done at Race Torque. Give them a call and I'm sure they'll set your mind at ease regarding fitment and anything else on your mind. MSR seems to be modding pretty quick so you should be able to let him spend the money on R&D for your project as well as finding out what does and doesn't work

Very happy with the AVO450's. Have the reciept somewhere but pretty sure RT only charged me a couple of hours for fitting an up pipe turbo and silicon intake so guessing everything bolted in pretty easy. Looks like Quality gear to me.

Car is very smooth all through the rev range no huge hit like the little standard turbo just pulls nicely everywhere.

Do have to drop back to 5th when overtaking now from 80 but don't notice any lag any other time.

Thinking of putting some headers on ( that WILL be the last one except cosmetics ) just to get me to the 200 ATW club and tone down the exhaust ( mrs hates noise. car isn't loud at all but you know how they are )

After a few others have been running higher boost for a while with no dramas I will push it up a bit from the 17PSI I am running at the moment and make the most of it.

Happy to still get high 400km on a cruise control trip to margaret river before seeing the fuel light to.

If you would like to catch up and check it out then thats cool will PM you my number.

You must be able to drive the arse off that thing if you can get a 12.3 and under 200kw........
So its a bit laggier yeah, dropping to 5th from 80 ain't no big sdeal anyway.
What did the turbo cost ya mate?
Cheers Al

$2475 + fitting and tune & other bits. Was an expensive day.

Even when Lane drove it he said it felt like a lot more than 200KW but just couldn't get it to produce it on the Dyno. Guessing no airflow through the top mount while on the dyno doesn't help the numbers either.

Their dyno is sitting on the floor at the moment but apparently is going to be sunk into the ground. This should get a fair bit more air from the fan to the top mount. Be curious to see how much differance it makes.

I know it says 196 KW atw but Jaron had 217 on the same dyno and his MP/h was 110 I'm 111 so have trouble seeing 20 kw less with 50 NM less torque and getting a higher MP/h.

My understanding was ET was driver dependant but the MP/h didn't make much differance at all.

I do put cold water in the spray bottle with some ice and use heaps of it. Sure it helps but think its mostly phycological.
