Default torque splitter

Hey,

Was just wondering if you can get a torque splitter installed on WRX's to change from awd to rwd? I know 32r's can do it but can our cars?

cheers

There is no simple "pull out the fuse" trick to making it RWD. You need to either purchase an aftermarket or make your own locked centre diff. pop out the centre diff, attack it with a welder, stick it back in. In full rear you will find yourself snapping thin R160 drive shafts.

You can also install a DCCD centre from a 5sp RA box into your car and leave it open, which will perform pretty much the same thing.

If you'd searched the forums you would have found these threads

It also begs the question, why did you buy an AWD car just to make it RWD? Sliding 4 wheels is much more fun than 2

theres a trick for Auto Boxes. Pull the fuse to make it Front wheel drive Weeeeee! Dont know if this applies to modern WRXs butI know it works for the older models.

Otherwise As jester said DCCD from an RA box the best way to go about it.

cheers man, appreciate it.

I searched first but was unsure on what to search ..
i knew someone would comment on " why buy an awd if you want rwd .. ". Was just seeing if its as simple as a torque splitter so i can toggle between the two for fun or whateva, i dont want fulltime rwd, would much prefer awd if i had to only chose one

Cheers

Hmm was reading the threads that you led me to jEstEr? ..
Dont think its worth it for a bit of 'fun' .. thats all youll prolly get from doing it, surely it wont perform any better than the awd setup they come with.

Cheers guys

you'd be mistake, as they are 'adjustable' you can dialup whatever bind you feel comfortable with.

sure you can swing the tail out on full rear, but thats just a perk.
