Question Air Flow Sensor

Quick question for anyone who can help me out.

According to some people Early MY99's acctualy have different Air Flow Sensors from Late MY 99's (And models following all have smaller ones as well)

Is this True or False?

Moving on, Can I purchase one of these smaller ones from a more recent model rex and fit it into my early MY99 without causing dramas with the ECU etc.

If anyone can help me out with that I would greatly appreciate it!!

Thanks!

They're not interchangable.
And old ones, 97/98 are dearer than later ones 99/00.

I bet you had to buy the AFM sensor and whole inlet pipe for that money.

99/00 ones used to be that stupid amount until Subaru finally woke up after many complaints and decided to just sell the AFM Sensor.
