Default Thermostats

Seems like the thermo in my shitbox is being a royal pain.

Simple question, are they all the same?

Typical issue of mine where I ring for spares, and get asked for a chasis number which means nothing as its a conversion.

1998 JDM WRX motor.

Cheers.

Im pretty sure all the turbo EJ motors use the same thermostat. Opens at 78C.

Well I bleed the system after I changed the radiator.. a few days later it began spiking a little.

Re-bled it, sorted for a few days, then same issues.

Keeps doing it, so time for this thermo to retire. Just dont want to waste my time ordering the wrong one.

Is there like an upgraded one? I know Nismo do nissan ones for many models...

Kato has one for sale that opens at 71C made by ZeroSports. But the OEM one is fine for any daily driver.
