Default Hole in my radiator pipe

Hey all

Just got home to the smell of steaming coolant in my engine bay...UPon closer examination i noticed a small hole in the fat pipe coming off the radiator. Its booked in tomorrow to get fixed coz i dont know shit about how to replace it.

The guy who i spoke to tried to sell me some story that i might need a new radiator but it looks like just the pipe is gone as that is the only place where coolant is leaking from.

Does anyone have any ideas on why the pip would have a hole in it other than the fact that it might be old and perished???? Just want some info in case these guys try to replace anything that does not need to be replaced.

Cheers

GOOSE

hmm.. so cos you got a split in your radiator hose, you will need a new radiator?? is the company called 'Dodge 'r' us' ??? is it the top or bottom hose leaking? its probably wear and tear that caused your worries... a typical wrx radiator does a good service before it dies.. thats if you keep changing the coolant when recommended that is.

p.s. if its the top radiator hose, i have a new silicone hose if you want? pm me.

Yeah i did not think the whole radiator would have to be replaced. It is the top hose muggz but its gettin fixed tomorrow (thanks for the offer of the silicon hose).

Hopefully it does not take too long to fix and i am back on the road tomorrow afternoon.

As Guido Hatzis used to say...there is nothing sticky tape cannot fix!
