Nolathane bushes
 

It has always been a standard practice, that when we do suspension bushes at work, we replace them with nolathane. and they seem fine after many tens of thousands of km's.

I did all my suspension bushes on my car, and after the last day at collie, they are starting to "pull through" like on the sway bar link bushes, are begining to pull through and the front lower control arm bushes are starting to do the same, and i have rings of bushes coming off.

I have never seen this before, and was just curious if it has happened to anyone else, or any experiences, not after hard street driving but real track work, possibly good experiences with other brands?

Not sure what you mean by "pull through" Tom...swaybars will move to a degree on nolathane bushes...in fact later aftermarket Whiteline swaybars come with a collar to prevent sideways slippage. Make sure they are well lubed and are the correct diameter for the bars.

steve, the end link bushes, not the bar bushes are starting to pull through, and lower control arm bushes. ill take some pics when i get a chance. They were well lubed, and are correctly installed. dont know..

Do you mean 'mushrooming' out or the whole bush is slipping out?

ive never seen any do that before...try and get some pics.

are the end links the wire type or cast links?

Did you replace the whole link or just re-bush the standard ones? I've never seen bushes come out of the links. The Whiteline solid ones are really good and they come with bushes, so I would recommend them...probably also good to upgrade the chassis mounts too as they break after a while. I would steer away from the wire links...primitive.

did you use the big washer?

I guess that the swaybar links will only go through untill the washers hit the plastic link...

And this bush is making it's way rearward, and destroying the bit that seperates the lower arm from the aluiminium mount...
It is slowly turning around, and you cant really see it at the moment, but the other side of the bush is missing a bit. The rear of the bush is fine,
The rear bushes are all looking pretty good.

Tom, by the look of that you've either got some dodgy bushes (can happen) or they are the wrong size.
