Default anything else needed?

hey I have a mechanically stock MY99 wrx which a purchased recently and after reading the forums for a little while I have a few ideas about what I want to do to it. Nothing over the top (for the moment ) just a VF 28, TBE, upgraded top mount ( not sure to go for an STI or something like process west), CAI, Greddy Profec B 2 Boost controller and a verso tune.

Not sure if I will need injectors to support that? Will be a safe tune as its my daily driver.

Anything else im missing out of my list or need to change?

All sounds good mate, but unfortunatly the MY99/00's don't support Verso.
Your only option will be an aftermarket ECU, Power FC are probably the best bang for your buck but just comes down to how much you can afford.

Have a look around the ECU Section here for more info.

Injectors are 440cc and should be fine upto around 200kw ATW.

With the age of the car a new fuel pump might be a good idea too.

OK...... injectors should be fine as they are 440cc. An upgraded fuel pump ie: Walbro 255l/h should suffice. An aftermarket ECU ie a PowerFC, Autronic etc (stick with PowerFC). For best results an aftermarket silicone intake setup would be handy.

probly some more stuff i just cant remember lol!

If you go Power FC. While your at it, go for a Z32 or Q45 AFM. The OEM My99 AFM sucks

Go Autronic and ditch the AFM completely. Also wont need the boost controller as Autronic controls boost perfectly via a 3-port boost solenoid.

Cheers for the speedy comments guys. work must be slow today!?

I have read on hear before that the 99 AFM is a fragile unit. Is it a big job to replace it?

I had a read of what your plans are Wrexx. very nice. I wish my finances could get all of that done in such a short period of time.what did the autronic cost you and also it seems alot of people go for the VF 34? would this be the wiser option over a VF 28?

The AFM would need to be swapped when you had the ECU installed. This is only required if you choose the Power FC, most other aftermarket ECUs (Link, Autronic, Motec) use the MAP sensor and bypass the AFM completely.

The Z32 AFM is of differen't diameter to the standard piping and the wiring is also different, this would be best left to a workshop to do when they are installing/tuning the ECU.

More info on the Z32 AFM here

I think the VF34 compared to the VF28, is larger and is a ball baring turbo.
best bang vs lag, (although some might say VF35?) for a EJ205.

VF34 will put out a fair few more hp and is a better bang for the buck. It will cost a few squid more but well worth it. Do it

Also as both turbos are slightly laggier than your stockier. VF28 will come on song about 500rpm later and the VF34 more like 650rpm later. Of course it depends how well your tuner sets it up for you too. It's all here http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/mechanicals/492-ihi-turbos-specs-faq.html Credit must really go to pmh and wrxtasy
