I normally set the timer to 5 mins then go back inside and finish the coffee or whatever.

I normally let it warm up for about 1 min before driving off then just keeping off boost til it gets up to operational temp.

I never did with the wrx

On boost straight away without being thrashed i guess. No engine problems in 180K+ kms (incl forgetting to change the oil for 22K kms) and its still going great. I detailed it, Jim Hall did a car inspection at 179K and only found 2 things wrong with the car! 1 oil leak and non genuine coolant!

Murphy's law i reckon. If you genuinelly dont care about mechanical stuff, it wont die!

hahah mat, car goes strong . Yeah i usually strart up my car and drive it strait away, don't thrash it till its warm, as for my old engine that was built i use to warm it up, the whole pistons rattling around in their bores till it got up to operating temp kinda put me off driving it lol.
