Default Exhaust question from newbie

Had a look under my new scooby and found that the rear muffler was held to the exhaust hanger using zip ties as shown in the picture.

Just wondering if this is how it's normally done and do I have anything to worry about? Should the zip ties snap, I reckon the muffler will be dragging on the road.

Bahahaha...

That's so cheap. The hanger should fit into the rubber grommet thingy. If it won't fit, get an exhaust shop to do it for you.

i cant see that wire tie staying there for too long.. especially when it gets hot and falls off... take to exhaust shop, if you not sure whats going on!

edit: depends on where you're located.. for such a simple job.. just do a whitepages/yellow pages search from where you live!

I'm work in the wanneroo area so anywhere near there is fine if you have suggestions for good exhaust shops...

As long as it's not going to be a complicated job I'm happy!

cheers

If the cable tie is around the hanger, but the hanger is in the rubber hole mounted to the car, thats fine.
its to stop it sliding out around corners, mine has a hose clamp.

Nice work there

Just curious to wether or not you had your car inspected before
you bought it?

If it was who inspected it? (name and shame)

You should inform them that they failed to pick up such
an obvious thing and ask them to explain, just think of what
else they may have overlooked!
