CV joint on the way out?
Guys what generally is a tell tale sign of a on-the-way-out cv joint. When I'm driving i car hear a tick tick tick tick that gets faster as the car gets faster, im guessing CV due to my limited knowledge of wrx's...
How easy/expensive are they generally to fix, DIY possible? josh |

tick tick when turning the car generally
get it checked out, could be worst. CVs, do it right and get a new one. Dont get 2nd hand, rebuilt ones. New ones are around 800 or so if i remember correctly. |

or wheel bearings factor in $500 a corner, includes: $135 bearings, $235 for a new Flange, $50 for seals, some redline wheel bearing grease and 1 hours labour a corner. Assuming the Hubs are reusable

I experienced the stone symptom once - had the bearings and CVs checked and nothing wrong, nearly went crazy with worry thinking it could be something major. Turned out to be a fairly large stone in the tyre groove.

thanks fellas
I think it must be a CV, because i noticed last night, when i turn it gets a lot louder. I think it might be due to the fact ive lowered the car so much. |
