I highly doubt that its the imobiliser, that messes with the revs, it would either start or not, it would push revs up and down,

Check fuel pump.

I was 99% sure i was having AFM problems , turned out to be fuel pump.

Could also be idle air control valve or even throttle position sensor

I am thinking fuel pump. Does it prime when you turn the auxillaries on? The ticking could be injectors? If its starving for fuel then it would rev weirdly. Then stop and wont start if the pump is totally stuffed.

Hold on if the car is clicking while your trying to turn it over, that means the battery is flat, so try and jump start it and see

clicking is probably a relay.

Doubt a flat battery would make the car stall and make the idle hunt.

I understand that but normally when the car is clicking it means the batter is dead, but if the car is stalling and hunting then it could, be an afm or maybe even a loose or faulty joiner, check all your hoses and piping are connected, could be a leak somewhere

Hey all, thanks for the responses, much appreciated!

Battery is in pretty good nick as it was replaced not too long ago and the indicator on the battery says its all good! Fuel pump does prime just befor starting, which I let it do. I checked all the hoses that I could see and battery connection leads, etc, but nothing...Also that sound is not a fast ticking sound, its a more louder pronounced click. As GX said it's more than likely a relay...I think???

It's at the stage now where it's not even starting at all! It just cranks over and over, but never fires up! Could/would an AFM cause it to not start?

Cheers

Simon
