Should also mention that it only hot 28psi from 4th gear onwards.

dnbosiris 25-06-2015 12:17 PM

Yes correct its not hitting that level until WOT in 4th/5th/6th.

RJ999 25-06-2015 12:23 PM

So you went from ~20psi to 24psi on a stock 207, disregarding hypereutectics for a 20hp gain.
I agree with Jack here, 267hp still seems very low for 1.7bar of boost.

Even with my 2grams of fuck all of knowledge of how things work, I would think that is even worse and that your boost target is set at 2bar in the tune. So it gets to 28 and holds there for a bit?

I'm no tuner but arnt tunes done in 4/5th gear and that's where your waste gate duty is generally set up? Rossco might have more knowledge on this.... Therefore the fact it is spiking 28 should be adjustable on dyno ..

However... Load on dyno prob hasn't been set to match street driving .. More load more boost basicly

Here we go again... Where's matto

Rossco 25-06-2015 01:33 PM

Nice boost spike..... Then the typical VF turbo 'out of breath' pitch over at 6000rpm....

I don't reckon that's a 2 bar spike though.

Thanks Rossco... yeah it kicks in nice at 4k and pulls hard all the way out to redline. I like the tune which is why I'm hesitant to change anything.

I'm buying a tactrix cable shortly so I can start learning more about this tuning business.
Noob tuning question: let's say i wanted to trim the boost a little bit. I know this is done via WGDC table. But will this have any flow on effects that require other parts of the tune to be tweaked like afr or timing? i.e. can I trim just WGDC a little and be done with it?

Rossco 25-06-2015 02:37 PM

I'm not an open source tuner by any means.

Your system may have a base WG duty cycle plus a boost target look up index & PID tables but I'm not sure.

You'd be better asking someone who knows OS tuning more thoroughly.

I've had the same situation when I got my car back from the tuner, stock internal ej205 just with a vf-34 and supporting mods boost set at '22psi' but when hitting WOT in 4th and 5th my boost gauge reads 24psi.

Called the tuner up and asked why it seems to be reading higher boost level in those gears and all I got back was 'yeah that's fine no problem at all' so been trying to do some re-search on this and can't seem to find a whole heap!
