Default helpp??

Hi guys i already used search and couldn't find anything, so here it goes. Today i got a new BPM GT 3" TBE installed at ASG. The midpipe was a bit short so they welded on a piece of extra metal to it so it all lines up perfectly, which it does and looks great. My problem is that when i drive its got that boxer rumble but when i release the throttle it makes a sort of popping sound, thats only when i release the throttle. Is that normal?

also when you drive you can hear like movement underneath, is it possible that its loose and its knocking on something because there is a knocking sound underneath the drivers side constantly when you drive, sometimes it disappears for a min or two and back it comes. Any suggestions as to what it would be? or if its normal :S

The popping is normal.

Re: the banging if it was not there before take it back to ASG and get it checked.

If you want to check it yourself just grab it (when its cold) and wriggle it to see if it is hitting on anything.

I know at the recent track day, under hard braking my downpipe would sometimes touch the steering column...might just need to be moved slightly...

I just tried wriggling the exhaust, it doesn't hit anything. Although my hangers are pretty loose, if i buy new hangers would that help? I still have the stock ones.

yeah mine didn't fit properly either, ASG ended up adding extra metal to make it fit, so when i take it back ill see what they say... The knocking is annoying like hell, can't stand it anymore. I think it might be the dump pipe not matching up to the hanger. I don't know if ASG cut the dump so it can actually hook onto the hanger, if they didn't than that is most likely the problem because the dump was about 2cm lower than the hanger.

It astounds me that BPM charge so much for their products, yet they don't fit properly. Even a $600 China exhaust bolts on most of the time!

BPM quality still shining through after all these years.

Take it to ASG and have it checked out.

ASG fixed problem. Resonator on midpipe was touching the metal bit the midpipe hanger sits off. All they did was bend the exhaust back a bit and now its fine. Sounds alot better
