Default Surprise Suprise, 02 STI into a 99 WRX

Hi Guys, Does anyone know if a 02 STI engine would drop straight into my 99 WRX, I am not exactly sure of the year of the liberty it came out of. Were there any big changes between the engines that would cause me problems when going to intstall it. I know the ecu will have to be changed.... THats about it

Thanks !

Short answer, No it won't. Whatever Liberty engine you get will require at the minimum, some modification to fit. Most likely different inlet manifold bolt pattern on the heads or twin turbo oil and water plumbing to contend with.

Rb25/ 26... That'll net you 300kw pretty fast with minor mods. DO IT (easy for me to say)
