I have KYB agx in my car and i really like them. I would only go for something japanese, KYB or Tokico, etc. Far more reliable IMHO. I would steer clear of european shockies like moneroe, Koni etc.

Standard shocks from subaru are made by KYB. I bought new ones for mine a while back now from Veale auto parts. From memory i think they set me back about $90 each for the rears and about $110 each for the fronts.

inserts are very VN commodore just get a whole strut or coilovers.. we only try to use japanese shocks on all cars at work, we see the koni's and monroe shocks fail too early, some times in 30000km. Also adjusting the koni's isnt as quick as the kyb's

I've heard Koni's are meant to be a quality unit .. I have ridden in a car with Koni's and thought they were quite good!

Bought some myself. Best $1500 ever spent on the middle of the range ones. Totally adjustable. Was able to get my yellow sticker off by jsut getting my C spanners out and turning the threads up. Too easy, good ride.

I've had Koni's in two of my past GC8's and they are an excellent unit (had them in each car for 3-4 years). And yes, they are done as an insert and are easily adjustable from the top with a knurled knob. I would absolutely recommend them as the next best thing to coilovers....they are very good bang for buck.
