Default Remote Locking Intermittent

Gday all

My remote locking works intermittently and seems to be worsening. Both my keys have the problem. I've testing the batteries and they're both sitting close to 5volts. After driving the car and stopping it could start working again. Go to open and the car a hour later and no go. Sometimes it could be the other way round.

Reckon I'm looking at a programming problem or a loose plug/connector? If it is a loose connector where to I find the main control unit?

Is it only affected in certain areas?

This may be of some use http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/showthre...ht=leederville

You will need to start by checking several things..
1. Take the doors trims off, and disconnect one of the actuators. They try again.
Repeat this for each door. If an actuator is faulty then disconnecting it will
stop it interferring with the other three.
2. If it is aftermarket, then check the earthing points. If they are corroded then
this will affect performance.

I had problem 1 on my GF lancer . One of the actuators was dodgy. Checked
by disconnecting each in turn, then replaced the dodgy one and hey presto,
problem fixed.

Had the same/ish problem with mine, I would have to press the button on the remote several times before the doors would lock/unlock. Took it to subaru in melville and the parts guy said it had something to do with the window tinting being metalic based causing the signal to be reflected .
He may have been talking crap, but it sounded reasonable enough.

Test your remote with the windows up and then again with your windows down.

I tried it with my windows down and it worked every time.

Hope this helps.

I had a similar problem with mine, Just turned out the batteries were no good. Have you put new ones in a given it a go? I know this sounds silly, but it worked.
If need be you can also "recalibrate/program" the remotes for your car. If you wanna give this a try PM me and I can run you through the steps.
