Default Engine Swap.

Hey all, skimmed through a few pages of searching but there was so much crud, i didnt find what i really wanted.

Now my question is, if i was to swap out them bottom end (short block) of my ej205 for the ej207 would this need to be checked and/or ran over the pits for a engine swap notification?

With the answer to that, would it be the same if i build the long block of the 207 and changed over the 205?

Reasons?

Just need a little clarification!

Thanks,

Eric

Nah no pits, only if you're changing size of engine...eg 4 cyl to a 6 cyl.

No pits, but you have to fill out change of engine form.
You may get asked for receipts too.

Here's the Link for the change of engine form:DPI Change Engine Form

Take the form and your receipt to them and you'll get paperwork saying that you have an engine with a different engine number in your car. Apparently a lot of people don't even bother but better to be safe...

Installing STi heads make no difference - only if you change the number of cylinders or fuel type do you have to go over the pits. (Forget about RAC horse power rating)
