Default Sump damage

Ok so i hit a big ass limestone rock this morning and put a massive dent in my sump. Just wanting to know from the gurus if this may cause any internal damage to the block and wether i should get it replaced asap. Car is running fine and normal and there is no oil loss. Also managed to put a dent in the headers also and some body damage

Yeah, so long as it not leaking oil i wouldnt worry about it.

If you end up getting a new sump, make sure the oil pickup hasnt been pushed out of its orginal position.

Might be a good excuse for a high volume sump if you do any sort of motorsport with the car

just look at it like now you've used up all your bad luck you can enjoy your foz, you should have just come on the cruise yesterday & kicked my foz's ass and got it out of your system

where did you go bashing?

edit: hmmm oil pickup, hadn't thought of that, could be carnage if the oil pickup line is fractures and doesn't suck the oil up properly

what side is the oil pickup located?? Wouldnt i loose oil pressure if that was the case anyway and the oil light would come up? how far down into the sump does the pickup come? Will definatally be getting a new sump but would rather wait as i cant really afford it now and the car spends more time at ASG than it does in mine. I got about 3000k till the next oil change so am hoping everything will hold out till then.

Put the car up on ramps and the only other major damage is the plate behind the sump which looks like a easy replace job. slight damage to the exhaust too.

Id be concerned, if its moved the pickup or baffles you could be in a world of trouble.'

If there is one thing dak daks hate, its a lack of oil.

they are not that much about $150 + gasket + oil + filter + labor so yeah its about a $400 - $500 job id say. Ohh happy days!! anyone know a cheap towie? not worth the risk on a 20K engine. So anyone know how far the baffles and oil feed line go into the sump?
