Default Unequal or Equal length headers

Hi folks, I have to make a decision about buying equal length headers or unequal length headers today. There's been alot of discussion about coating and wrapping, and changing the noise of the rex 'burble', but I could not find any threads discussing the pros and cons of length vs power.

So, which flows better and delivers more power, equal length or unequal length?

Cheers
Ed

i got some unequal ceramic coated headers from ASG, gives better flow and you dont totally lose that boxer rumble. Equal length will give the same flow benefits but will change the exhaust note to that of a Honda. Im pretty sure you will get similar results from both, the biggest difference is the price.

equal length = betar

the unequal length creates the boxer burble because the exhaust pulses are fighting against eachother!

When i had a chat to Nik at ASG about it he said there is bugger all diffrence between the two in terms of performance gains, Id still prefer the Honda note tho.

+1

Equal length more efficient - therefore more power.

Unequal length are not efficient (creating the boxer 'burble') - therefore less power.

I went unequal on my 04 last time and Nik said the same. Was more than happy to keep the burble.

I guess all depends on your ultimate goal, if your chasing mainly power It would seem equal are your best bet.
