Default exhaust question

dont want t sound like a n idiot but can i get my car to have a good exhaust note without buying a whole system, can i just change the muffler to get it to sound better?
i have very limited money to spend

Diff back or cat back exhaust. All the sound, very little benefits and no need for a retune.
