My car at the moment has 225/45/17 91Y rubber on it. I can replace them with 91W or 94W can't I?

A few comments here about Tyre Rack, has anyone actually used them, and if so how was the service, shipping time etc.

pros: service good, shipping was 10 days over easter, price was good.
cons: wouldn't mark down my rims so i had to pay import duty

Well have just sent over a wire transfer for $967AUS for a set of 4 Pirelli Pzero Nero for the sti, landed at my door. Quite happy with that.

St George Tyres or tirerack.com?

I need some new shoes for my 17s asap! RE001s in 225/45/17 they want 250+ locally! Both St george and tirerack don't do RE001s.

Can someone explain the difference between the speed index also. Say 94Y or 94W....which should i be looking at?

The number, say 91, is the load rating (how much weight the tyre is rated to hold). Try to keep this number close to the standard equipment, you can stray a rating or 2 up but don't go lower. The letter, say W, is the speed rating of the tyre. W means the tyre is ok up to 270kph, so more than enough. Most quality tyres will be way better than you need in this area.

Will i have to pay import duty/tax when it goes from custom on our side?

Only if its over $1000 dude, you shouldn't have any import duty with that total

Anything under $1000 AUD on the exchange rate day when it hits customs will be exempt.

So just hope the exchange rate doesn't plummet! :D

Yeah still hunting, was still thinking about the ku36's but I'm not 100% about using them as daily's. i hear they wear pretty quick, but i guess its how you drive them as-well.

4 Tyres it's $220, now thaw friggin cheap considering
they're coming from the US.

I'll get some new shoes for the 204 when I get back from
my trip.

Looks like I'll be going the Dunlop Direzza Star Specs and I won't
be paying any duties/taxes to the gumbyment as it's appx $950aud
all up, sweet!!!

i probably steer clear of that unless u have another set of tyres dedicated for daily...wouldnt wanna be forking out another 800+ 6months down the track. They are a very good tyre, but i dont think is very practical...personally.

Still waiting on some replies on the Pzero nero!! C'mon ppl - i know someone must have them on here on their scoobyyy!

Grip well in dry? Cant really ask u how they are in the wet..since it hasnt rained in like 2million years.

Are yours the Pzero Nero All seasons or just the plain Pzero Nero?

who knows it never rains does it...previous PZero-Rosso were less stiff and reasonable in the rain for a daily driver.

I did a wire transfer all via netbank. Went without a hitch. They sent me all the relevant details I needed. Done.

paypal should be an option I would have thought...my 18" PZero-Nero's from st george and they take paypal pretty simple really.
