Unhappy Hmmmm...Not so lucky after all!!!

Well......where to start.......I am responsible for a large trail of oil that finishes in a rather large puddle on grand prom near woodrow ave, westbound.

I managed to do this by making a large hole in the side of my engine block as I broke a rod a sprayed oil everywhere lastnight .

At this point my defi oil gauge went into alarm (stating the obvious , well done defi!!! ) I hit the clutch and came to a nice gentle stop in a bus bay.

RAC came in 45 min, well done boys, better than the last time when I waited for 2 & 1/2 hours, got the car taken home, 2min up the road lol!!!

Car is now at race torque and I await there full diagnosis of how much damage is done and how much it will cost to fix, and how many upgrades I can afford to fit into the engine while they have it apart and in pieces!!!..

I think this was most likely due to some (undetectable) damage that was done when I hydrolocked my engine not so long ago...oh well...not so lucky after all!!!

I will keep you all up to date on the outcome

it would be very hard to prove i think. get a crate 207, sti oil pump, head recon, and whatever other damage there might be to the heads/valves, retune and you should be good to go again.

How hard were you driving the car when it let go?

Not THAT hard just "medium" hard , there was some strange vibrations then 5-10 seconds later a KaBOOM!!

Will i need a re-tune after repairs??? Guess it depends on how much they repair/replace with stock parts v upgrade ???

Race tourque are doing the work but car has a verso tune by ASG, find out more tomorrow when they give me a complete rundown.

Race Torque have done a 2.7 stroker in a 257. If your going to lash out might as well ask the question.

Keep forgetting to ask when I'm there but they did reckon a AVO 500 appeared a little small last time I heard anything so must be a bit of a weapon if it's held together.

Spoke to the boys at RT today, looking at around 5g for a new short block with forggies etc and can have it done by the end of next week , going to call in and see them tomorrow to look at all options and see what is best.

$5 grand is not to bad, no turbo upgrade for a while now though , i was prepared for the worst, phewwww
