Default Rev limited clutch engagement???

Hi All

Anyone verify if there is such a thing as rev limited clutch engagement with the recent GT Liberty and WRX's. I have a couple of mates that have the mentioned cars they say that when they rev the car at 5000rpm or so and then launch the clutch will spin and not grab until it drops to about 3500rpm. Then is wow what's that smell??? They also say that they get the clutch burn smell when they are in reverse.

I reckon it's either a different clutch pad material or poor technique! I haven't heard of a rev limited clutch engagement system? Anyone?

Cheers

Nick
