RWD Conversion
Sometime in November i plan on doing a rwd conversion in my WRX, reason fo the delay i because i want to take my car to the plex as is first to see what times i make.
I have done some reading on forums (perth-wrx, rexnet and nasioc). I dont want to weld the centre diff so i have opted to go with the PPG centre diff spool ( similar to MRT's item). The R160 diff has copped a bad wrap when performing this conversion, so i plan on upgrading to something a little stronger maybe even aftermarket. This conversion is just curiosity and for the novelty. I doubt it will be permanent. Before all the flamers come and say buy a silvia and watnot, wrx is for awd bla bla...yeah ive heard it all, afterall im doing this to 'my' car not yours. i dont plan on doing insane drifts or standstills, i just want to spice up my car a little and have a taste of something different. my main questions are on little tricks on how to strengthen the rear diffs and shafts etc to prevent breakage as much as possible, i know some breakage is inevitable also. my car is putting out mild power with 252hp/atw, nothing crazy like most these days. So yeah just some rear diff setup ideas would be great guys and girls. Thanks John
