Exhaust work recommendations please
Hi all,
My mrs bought me a 3" cat back exhaust from ebay but the problem is that its from a full china/dylan spec TBE and it wont just bolt up to the standard cat (she had no clue but its the thought that counts). I was wondering if anyone can recommend a exhaust place that does decent work and doesn't charge $185 just to fit the exhaust let alone do the mods to make it fit (that was one quote i got yesterday). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Wayne

I got a dylan/china tbe...doesnt fit right...touches the underbody of the car at one spot and the dump pipe 'flexi part' it hard against the underbody of the geatbox chassis thingo..after some talks with Dylan and being told I put it on wrong 'which im 100% sure I didnt' and checked it over and over it only goes 1 fking way! I took it to 2 places to have it checked...prestiege in malaga and my mechanic in noranda..both confirmed it was either not for my model or just bad workmanship..anyway the short of it is I was told to bring it to asg to check it..but trying to book ur car into somewhere that are fully booked for 4 weeks and u work ages away..too hard..
For the price I paid it was more of a fk around to try get it even looked at. People will fix it..but they will charge u an arm n a leg and u wont have a nice SS job as an end result. |

ive fitted 2 dylan spec exhausts to an 02 sti and a 06 wrx. all fit fine except the fact that the dump pipe mount was about an inch off reaching the threaded hole on the gearbox housing.
other then that, they were pretty good. |

problems fitting the full TBE unfortunately mines only the cat back part and its about a foot too short to bolt up to the standard cat Quote:
Would love to get verso but a bit skint at the moment and buying the rest of the exhaust would end up costing me more then it would have to buy a complete TBE package. As i said before the mrs bought it for me and didnt really know what she was getting so im stuck with it for now

For custom exhausts both mild or stainless steel in any size (but typically 3-inch and mandrel bent) I can recommend Cypher Industries in O'Connor for price and quality with hi-flow cats. I've had 2 sets of exhausts through them with good results and support.

Got my Prodrive cat back fitted a couple of weeks ago by Mettams Mufflers in Morley. They had to modify it slightly to fit it the standard piping and charged me $80 which wasn't too bad.
