Default Front Drive Shafts

Just wondering if anyone has some images of

GC Front Driveshafts
GD Front Driveshafts

or can explain the differences between each type.

I'm guessing that GC is a socket type driveshaft and the GD style is plug in ?

Both gc8 WRX/STI and GD WRX drive shafts are the same. female end. The gearbox has male stubs on it for the shafts.

GD STI shafts are thicker with larger CVs. 02 STI have the same setup as WRX with a male stub on the gearbox. 03+ STI however, have male stubs on the shaft itself IIRC.

GD shafts have the ABS tone ring on the inner CV, GC8 have the tone ring on the hub.

GD are use split-pin retained socket up to 03/04,

after 04 they went to plug in shafts which circlip into the gearbox.

05 shafts are also a smidge, like 10mm longer, they don't make any difference however..
