Easy to do but realise that if you lower them more than about 5mm, you will need to get your alignment re-set.

Use either the spanner provided or hammer & screwdriver to loosen the retainer. Mark the face of the adusting nut with chalk so you know how far 1 turn is. 1 full turn will generally lower the car about 1.5mm.
When finished tighten up the retainer.

understanding that 5mm all round will change the way the car drives but will lowering the car arround 20mm on the rear make enough of a difference that i need a wheel allignment??

Not only will lowering the rear require a wheel alignment ot will also change the weight distribution and make the car ahndle differently, Eg more mid corner understeer.
