Covered many times before, visit Japanese Wholesale Spares (JWS) for halfcuts , fullcuts, engine or bits and pieces that you require.

http://www.japanesewholesale.com.au/

However it might be easier to do what nauli said and buy a WRX.

Buy a halfcut from anywere, Tj's in wangara have one, and you can ask KYP in Kewdale if they have any.

If you are employing a mechanic to do it... don't bother, it will be too expensive, buy a WRX/STI. If you are doing the work yourself, the above suggested places or IchiBan (oever east) can help you get waht you need

Guide for those wanting to upgrade their RX to WRX performance

Plan carefully on what you will need, (making this up as I type)- wrx block, exhaust, intake, turbo, heads, intercooler, brakes, suspension, wiring loom, chip, fuel system, gearbox, clutch, tuning.. ..
Carefully make an estimate of the cost, and for the time off road

Questions
Do you enjoy working on cars and have tools, facilities, knowledge?
Can you afford double the estimate of cost?
“ “ “ “ time off the road”

If yes to all, then do it. I would be surprised if the cost is less than selling your RX and buying a WRX. But it is your money and should give you a lot of fun.
If you are paying the proper rate for skilled labor – you’d need a very strong emotional attachment to that RX body to want to go that way.

Other options- as well as swapping in a wrx motor (various options here), there are turbo and supercharger kits. Apart from the fun of DIY no option will give value for money compared with sell what you don’t want then buy what you do want.

Save yourself the headaches, just sell up and buy a WRX. MY99/00 WRX's are alot cheaper nowadays!
