Just run a sealed battery i.e. Optima, you won't have to vent it then.

12 volt shop sells them also. Most the one I have seen have a gap around the lid to vent. As Joe says though, use a sealed/ Gel battery. No venting so no fumes end up inside the car.

Would be simple to wire up, are you keeping your battery in the engine bay too? ie: dual batteries? or just replacing to run from the boot only?

Josh

FYI - http://www.bcf.com.au/search.aspx?ke...=battery%20box

They look good.. Im only running a single battery in the boot, trying to clean up the engine bay..

I have all the wiring from a friend whom did theres overeast, so all i have to do is solder it to the main line and fix the earthing points..

Would i also need one of these?

"A Blue Sea Systems 75 amp circuit breaker is mounted on the side of the box. Without a circuit breaker or fuse, any short-circuit that develops between the battery and the original fusible link in the engine bay has the potential to cause a fire. The breaker can tolerate twice its rated current for 10 seconds, allowing its rating to be lower than the starter motor current draw."

Does the BCF one come with one inbuilt??

Joe, the gel bateries are smaller and my setup may draw too much current that it can handle?? That is what i was told from ASG, unless ive got my wires crossed??

cant see anything like that built in with the bcf ones, but would definitely be good security in the unlikely event of overload.

this is the one I was talking about https://store.bcf.com.au/flex/default.aspx?PLU=116492, it just has a battery isolator/master switch inbuilt so you can switch off all power from the battery without having to disconnect the leads/terminals, you just turn a switch.

Try blackwoods/atkins or lawrence & hanson for your circuit breaker, even covs/repco maybe

Autopro in Canning Vale definately have them.

Put a nice fat fuse on the positive wire. It's about $10 for the peace of mind.

Tino,

In addition to the companies mentioned above, you can try http://www.rocketindustries.com.au/

They sell all parts for anything from street to drag applications and most battery boxes would be certified.

just gonna bump this thread than start another...

Ive been looking at those battery boxes and they dont have a sealed box but vent on the ends.. This will be no good for me i think..

Rocket sell a moroso one but its $150 might as well by a gel battery...

Also using a standard acid battery aparently it needs heat to increase charge, so wont work anywhere as good in the boot..

So now im looking at gel type batteries and one i have been recomended that will suit high HP is a carbon battery. Anyone know where i can source one from??
