Hi , changing my gearbox and rear diff oil to Redline. Does anyone know what type(viscosity) to use? Its for a 5 speed MY01.

apparently redline HWSP works better compare than LWSP for g/box. as smooth as LWSP with a bit more protection on the box

Prolonged use will clog sensitive oil galleries in the gearbox due to the oil seperating and plasticising (spelling?). When the shift starts getting notchy you NEED to change the redline. This can be after only 10,000k's or longer pending on driving style etc. It has its positive's as well as its negatives. Some people won't touch redline due to this and other reason, whilst others praise it. My suggestion is if you intend on using it, be prepared to change it every 3 engine oil changes, i.e. every 18months.

i'm trying out the new motul stuff from tenagah, getting it done on weds so if you want to wait till after that i'll give you a back to back review of the motul vs the redline which i have been runnign for the last 50,000 k's changed every 12,500ish
