Boost controllers - bleed valves

Are the bleed valve type controller any good?
Looking at a simple turbosmart gated valve..

The skyline guys have some thing against them saying they have boost spikes etc

Yeah they are ok for the money. Go to SkylinesAustralia forum and search for Turbotech and buy one of theirs for $35.

i know this is a bit off the topic and im no mechanic or anything :p but i just wanted to know..
What does bleeding the clutch do and how do you do it

bleeding the clutch lines gets air out of the pipes after flushing the lines, but that has absolutly nothing to do with boost controllers...

is cool, thought you might have been confused about bleed valves... :)

dose bleed values stage 1 lean out 1st and 2nd piston ???

pmh 04-11-2005 05:33 PM

if you wind it up too much, it will lean out in general
ie overboost, and not enough fuel to compensate
this is a mechanical boost controller, which doesn't actually allow the car to pump fuel to compensate for the extra "air" going in

but, if you keep the boost to around 15/16 psi, you should be ok
plus, the stock ECU will stop you from overboosting past 16psi anyway, due to boost cut
