Ok so it's probably an airlock in the heater system, sounds about right. So how do I fix it is the next question I guess? I'm not worried about it being a problem I'm just in the process of selling so I don't want someone running away scared because they heard water running...

Actually I just found the fix, suposidly I need to run the car with the radiator cap off from cold until it gets up to the normal temperature. This is ment to fix the airlock, I guess I'll give it a try.

Searched some more and here is a more detailed way of fixing.

What that noise is a air lock in your heater, someone oviously dosnt know how to bleed a subaru cooling system. The problem is your radiator hight is lower than your heater system so once the coolant is drained and re filled it gets a air lock allowing your coolant to (wash) around making that noise.Re-drain the coolant jack up the car (in the front) cut a coolant bottle in half so when you put the bottle in the radiater cap in its higher than the heater and fill, start the car and allow the thurmostate to open re-fill and let the thurmo's cut in a couple of times put the cap back on and lower the car.

Mine does it, its tricky to solve correctly....ASG told me they normally tilt the front of the car up and bleed it that way, to get all the air out.

*edit* As above, I didn't read that before posting

Aparently some of the newer model libertys (not sure on WRX?) have a secondary valve plumbed in somewhere near to the heater core to help bleed correctly...
