Default what needed to turbo EJ20

i got a standard impreza motor sitting in my garage. just wondering what would be needed to turbo it..all the internals? heads...basicly a whole rebuild with wrx internarls. or could the motor handle a turbo without such big of a change. the motors got 56,000 k's on it.

cheers

the motor will handle it but you will probably only be able to run 6-8PSi safely.

Don't waste your time.

Either convert your car to proper WRX running gear, or buy a WRX.

and the gearbox will probably get its life shortened pretty quick, along with the rest of the driveline

you strenghten one part of the car and something else will become the weak point, since it didn't come out of factory with the expectations of getting the extra power/torque

If you know what your doing, and have the money to do it, then go right ahead, but is a big job, an you need a bit of money to do it. already looked into buying bretts impreza engine of him and converting, and i got some quotes on parts etc and its going to cost shit loads more to convert than it is to rebuild, so might just rebuild it now and sell it.
