Do you need to remove the aircond unit before you can pull out the heater box?

i cant get the heater box out, and from what i can tell the heater box sits slightly behind the air cond box.

what is a regas for the aircond worth?

Thanks, Steven.

when you pull the heater core out, there are 2 heater hoses from the box that go through the firewall and plug into your engine... these need to be removed but beware you will make a massive mess doing it. you need to drop all your coolant first but there will still be heaps of water. around so be careful!

A good trick for this is to disconnect the hoses as usual, the attach a length of hose to one outlet and blow through it with compressed air. will drain most of the core and stop it going all through the car.

you don't have to remove the a/c evaporator box to remove the heater box.
to make it easier, remove the fan blower box and remove the screws/bolts holding the a/c box. this will give a small amount of movement with the a/c pipes still connected, enough to get the heater box out.
